Shooting and Fire at Lewis Avenue in East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania Results in Loss of Five Family Members

EAST LANSDOWNE, Pa. – The tragedy that struck a home on Lewis Avenue in East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania has left a family shattered, and a community in mourning. Five members of the Le family lost their lives in a devastating shooting and fire incident. The victims were identified as Britni McLaughlin-Le, Xuong Le, Natalya Le, Nakayla Le, and Xavier Le. Britni McLaughlin-Le and Xuong Le, a married couple, were the parents of the three children. In a statement released by the McLaughlin family, they described Britni and Xuong as devoted, loving parents, and expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community.

According to Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, the bodies of all the family members have been recovered, including Canh Le, who is believed to be the shooter. The incident began with a 911 call reporting a shooting involving an 11-year-old, which resulted in two police officers being injured. The home later caught fire, preventing firefighters from immediately putting out the flames due to the gunfire.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the tragic incident. Although it’s unclear whether Canh Le was the shooter, evidence and interviews with surviving family members may provide answers. Meanwhile, the William Penn School District, where the Le family children attended, is grappling with the devastating loss.

The family has provided some insights into the tumult that led up to the tragic event. Chin Le, who claimed to be Canh Le’s mother, described her son as recently divorced and unemployed. She claimed that Canh shot five people, including three children, before taking his own life. However, investigators have not confirmed her account and are still focused on uncovering the truth.

As the community mourns the loss of this family, questions remain about the circumstances leading up to the tragedy. The resilience and strength of the community will be vital in the healing process, as they come to terms with the devastating loss.
