JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A shooting at a local hookah lounge on Monday night left one man dead and has prompted an investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. at Medusa Lounge, where the alleged shooter contacted emergency services to report the event.
According to JSO Sergeant Josh Catir, patrol officers responded to the establishment, located at 9551 Baymeadows Road, after receiving reports of gunfire. While en route, authorities learned that the shooter remained at the scene and had initiated the 911 call.
Upon arrival, officers detained the suspected shooter and began a search of the area. During their investigation, they discovered the victim, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel declared the man dead shortly after arriving.
Following preliminary assessments, detectives transported the shooter to the JSO headquarters for further questioning. The investigation is still in its early stages, and police are exploring the connections between the individuals involved and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
