Shooting at Spartanburg Party Leaves One Dead, Police Seek Witnesses

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Authorities are probing a shooting that claimed a man’s life early Saturday morning. Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1:20 a.m. on North Center Street, where they discovered a man in a driveway with a fatal chest wound.

Witnesses reported that the victim had been attending a party at a nearby residence. In the chaos that followed the shooting, several attendees fled the scene, heightening concern for their safety. Investigators have suggested that a dispute over money may have precipitated the violence.

While no suspects have been formally identified, one witness provided a description of the shooter, identifying him as a Black male with closely cropped hair, dressed in a red jacket and red pants. The incident is being closely examined by local law enforcement, with support from the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office is working to confirm the victim’s identity and will release this information after notifying family members.
