Seattle, Wash. — A shooting in the Capitol Hill neighborhood Thursday evening resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy and left a 29-year-old man injured. Police responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Broadway and East Pike shortly after 8 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the young victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Harborview Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The adult bystander arrived at the hospital later with a gunshot wound to the leg and is currently reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Investigators have indicated that the shooting appears to have been a targeted attack, with no known motive at this time. It remains unclear if the teenage victim was intended to be targeted or if he was inadvertently caught in crossfire. The adult victim was confirmed to be a bystander.
