Shooting Tragedy Unfolds: Killeen Suspect Kills Self After Fatally Shooting One

Killeen, Texas – Authorities from the Killeen Police Department, Copperas Cove Police Department, and Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department are collaborating on an investigation into a recent shooting incident in Killeen that tragically resulted in one fatality and the suspect taking their own life.

The KPD officers responded to a distress call at the 6300 block of Taree Loop around 2:48 p.m., discovering a male victim with gunshot wounds upon arrival. The perpetrator was nowhere to be found at the scene, as mentioned by the local authorities.

Despite the initial absence of the suspect, law enforcement was informed by a 911 call made by the alleged shooter themselves, providing some insight into the calamitous event. Subsequently, the Copperas Cove Police located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in Lampasas County. Tragically, the suspect opted for a self-inflicted gunshot wound within the vehicle, declining to comply with law enforcement’s commands.
