Small Plane Crash Kills Three in Clearwater Mobile Home Park

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A tragic plane crash in a Florida mobile home park has resulted in the deaths of three individuals, according to the Clearwater Police Department. The crash, which occurred on Thursday, caused multiple units to catch fire.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) report confirmed that one crew member on the plane and two people on the ground lost their lives in the devastating crash. Emergency crews rushed to the Bayside Waters community shortly after receiving reports of the incident.

Prior to going off radar about 3 miles north of a runway, the pilot of the single-piston Beechcraft 35 Bonanza plane had reported an emergency to the St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport. The airport, located approximately 7 miles southeast of Clearwater, received a distress call from the pilot before the aircraft disappeared from radar.

According to FlightAware, the plane had departed from Vero Beach Regional Airport around 6:08 p.m. and was scheduled to land at the small Clearwater Air Park. The crash, however, resulted in a 72-year-old Florida man narrowly surviving after his mobile home was ripped apart and the neighboring trailer was destroyed.
