State Investigators Join Double Homicide Investigation in Bolivar, Tennessee; New Details Emerge on Third Death

BOLIVAR, Tenn. – A small town about 70 miles east of Memphis is reeling from the shock of three violent deaths within a 24-hour period. State investigators have joined the double homicide investigation in Bolivar, Tennessee, and are now also looking into a third death that occurred in the same time frame.

The County seat of Hardeman County, Bolivar, with a population of around 5,000 residents, is facing an unprecedented situation. Bolivar Mayor Julian A. McTizic expressed the community’s grief, calling the recent violent acts “senseless” and promising to diligently pursue justice for the families of the victims.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) reported that the double homicide occurred on Johnson Street, where two men were killed in an early morning gunfire. Meanwhile, a separate investigation is underway for a third death that took place on Oak Street, with TBI clarifying that it has not been declared a homicide.

The circumstances leading to the shooting on Johnson Street remain unknown at this time, and no arrests have been made in connection to the case. The community, including citizens like Dexter Harris, are expressing their condolences and calling for an end to the violence plaguing their town.
