Cork, Ireland – A 23-year-old Spanish student recently gave a chilling account of a violent attack he suffered in Cork, Ireland. The victim shared his traumatic experience in a victim impact statement read by Judge Mary Dorgan at Cork District Court. The incident involved a 44-year-old woman and her accomplices, who robbed the student while attacking him.

The Spanish student, who has since returned to Spain, described the impact of the crime on his life. He expressed feelings of insecurity and increased awareness while living in Cork following the incident, and shared the psychological trauma he continues to grapple with. Seeking solace, he has been attending therapy and struggling with telling his family about the incident.

The assault occurred during the early hours of the morning as the student walked home from a friend’s house in Cork city center. He was confronted by three men and a woman, one of whom punched him in the head, causing him to fall and become further attacked.
