Suspect Arrested for Murder in Case of Missing Dallas ISD Teacher’s Aide

MESQUITE, Texas – A 34-year-old man from Balch Springs has been arrested for the murder of a Dallas ISD teacher’s aide. Mesquite Police took Sixto Banegas Matute into custody on Wednesday in connection to the death of Jennifer Mendez Olascoaga.

The 24-year-old Dallas resident was last seen on September 27, leaving a mobile home park along Highway 175 in Seagoville. Her car was later found abandoned on Lawson Road the next morning, with no sign of her purse or phone. Human remains found in Mesquite near her car were identified as Mendez Olascoaga’s in November.

The Dallas County ME’s Office ultimately ruled her death a homicide. The investigation into her murder is currently ongoing.
