The incident took place on May 5 at approximately 11:05 p.m. when officers were called to the 700 block of West William Cannon Drive in response to a Check Welfare call regarding a man who was found bleeding.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
