London, England – A 16-year-old boy from Westminster is set to be charged with the murder of teenager Harry Pitman, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced. Pitman, also 16, was fatally stabbed on Primrose Hill in north London while celebrating New Year’s Eve with friends.
The CPS revealed that the boy will also face charges for possessing an offensive weapon. He is scheduled to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Following the incident, two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of Harry’s murder. Additionally, three other teenage boys, aged 15, 16, and 18, were taken into custody in connection with the case but have since been released on police bail.
Harry and his friends were gathered near the viewing platform on Primrose Hill to watch the New Year’s fireworks when the tragic stabbing occurred. Despite receiving first aid from police officers and paramedics, Harry succumbed to his injuries and passed away shortly before midnight.
