Teenagers Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 21-Year-Old Man in Utah Desert

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – Three teenagers have been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man during a robbery in a remote desert area. The victim, identified as Alexzia “Alex” Franco, was found with a single gunshot wound in a desert area in Utah County. Initially reported as an abduction case, the investigation took a dark turn with the discovery of Franco’s body.

Police stated that the three teenage boys, aged 15, 17, and 17, are facing charges related to Franco’s homicide. One of the boys was arrested after a white Jeep Liberty linked to the incident was found in Salt Lake County. Further investigation led to the apprehension of two other suspects, who are now in custody at the Salt Lake Valley Detention Center.

Authorities believe that Franco was shot during a robbery attempt near his home. Surveillance footage from the scene captured the sound of a gunshot soon after Franco entered the Jeep. It was revealed that the victim knew at least one of the individuals in the vehicle and willingly got inside.

Family members of Franco described him as a “good kid” who was loved by many. Despite his tough times, Franco’s loved ones have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown towards him. An online fundraiser has exceeded its goal, raising funds to cover Franco’s funeral expenses.

As the investigation continues, Taylorsville police noted that there are no outstanding suspects in the case. The community remains shocked by the tragic events that unfolded, as they come to terms with the loss of a beloved young man. The details surrounding the incident are still being pieced together by authorities as they seek justice for Alex Franco.
