Tragedy: Student Fatally Shot Outside Texas High School, Suspect in Custody

Arlington, Texas – An 18-year-old student tragically lost his life after being shot multiple times by another student outside Bowie High School in Texas. The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday near a portable building outside the school, leading to a lockdown as students were preparing to leave for the day.

Upon arrival, School Resource Officers found the 18-year-old male student unresponsive on the ground with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the student succumbed to his injuries. The suspected shooter, a 17-year-old, attempted to flee the school but was apprehended by the police near the campus. He will face murder charges once he is booked into the Arlington City Jail.

Families were instructed to reunite with their children at a district building located several miles away from the school following the tragic incident. Police authorities have promised to disclose more information about the shooting as it becomes available to the public.

Arlington Police Chief Al Jones expressed strong condemnation for the violence that occurred, stating that such acts cannot be tolerated in the community. He emphasized the need for schools to remain safe spaces where students can focus on their education without fear.
