Wichita Falls Police Investigate Deadly Robbery Attempt

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Police in Wichita Falls are investigating the first homicide of the year after a shooting at the Country Park apartments on Professional Dr. Reports suggest that the man who died was actually a suspect attempting to rob the man who shot him.

The victim, 32-year-old Quincy Moore, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital following the incident. Officers responded to a gunshot call just after 9:30 p.m. and found three individuals with gunshot wounds. Among them, a 33-year-old man was the victim of an alleged robbery, while the other two are believed to be the suspects.

According to Wichita Falls Police Department Public Information Officer, Sgt. Charlie Eipper, the victim was able to produce a firearm during the robbery and shot both of the suspects, resulting in the death of one of them. The other suspect is currently in critical condition and under guard by the police.

One neighbor reported hearing yelling from the apartment, followed by the victim’s plea for the intruders to leave, before gunshots rang out, prompting her to call 911. Sgt. Eipper emphasized the importance of community involvement in reporting incidents like this, allowing for a swift response from law enforcement and medical personnel.

Sgt. Eipper also emphasized the right to self-defense while urging individuals to try to remove themselves from potentially deadly situations. As of now, no charges have been filed against the 33-year-old victim. However, Sgt. Eipper noted that the circumstances of the incident, including the victim being attacked in his home, will be considered in determining whether charges will be brought against him.
