Accidents in Idaho Claim 4 Lives, Including Juvenile, Over Weekend

Caldwell, Idaho – Last weekend brought tragic and fatal car accidents to various parts of Idaho, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake. The state witnessed a series of accidents that claimed multiple lives and left others injured.

The Idaho State Police reported a total of four fatalities, including one juvenile, in separate highway accidents since Saturday. Among the victims were a juvenile in Canyon County, two adults in another Canyon County crash, and a male who tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous accident over the weekend.

In addition to the fatalities, five individuals were reported as injured and in need of medical attention at hospitals following crashes on Idaho roads. The Idaho State Police provided detailed accident reports, highlighting the severity and impact of each tragic event.

On Saturday evening, a collision at the intersection of Southside Boulevard and Melmont Road in Canyon County resulted in the death of a juvenile. The crash involved a 1992 Ford F150 pickup driven by the juvenile and a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by a 44-year-old male. The investigation revealed that the juvenile failed to stop at a stop sign, leading to the fatal collision.

In another heartbreaking incident, a dump truck and a pickup truck pulling a trailer were involved in a fatal crash on US20/26 near milepost 18 in Canyon County on Monday afternoon. Both drivers, a 49-year-old male from Caldwell and a 58-year-old male from Nampa, lost their lives in the head-on collision.

The Idaho State Police also updated the public on a previously reported injury accident that turned fatal. The driver of a white Dodge Ram involved in a collision on US12 had passed away from his injuries. The crash, which occurred on April 16th, involved a head-on collision with a semi-truck.

Two additional accidents on Saturday evening resulted in injured occupants being transported to hospitals. One incident involved a driver failing to yield at a stop sign and hitting a parked train, while the other saw a police officer and a male in custody in the back seat hit by an elderly driver on US95 in Fruitland.

As Idaho grapples with the aftermath of these tragic accidents, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding each incident to determine the factors contributing to these devastating losses. Road safety remains a critical concern, urging drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies on Idaho highways.
