Agent Severely Injured in Traumatic Dog Attack in Western Australia

Broome, Western Australia – A real estate agent in Western Australia’s north is recovering from severe leg injuries after a vicious dog attack during a property visit in Broome. Tony Hutchinson, now confined to a wheelchair, was left unable to walk following the “extremely traumatic” incident involving two dogs. The Shire of Broome rangers are currently investigating the attack.

Hutchinson recounted the harrowing experience where he was attacked by what he described as pitbulls or American staffies at a property where the owners were not present. Despite not being informed about the presence of three dogs on the property, Hutchinson found himself in a life-threatening situation. The dogs inflicted severe wounds on his legs, forcing him to use crutches and a wheelchair for mobility.

Neighbors expressed concerns about the aggressive behavior of the dogs, citing a past incident where they bit a man and attacked another dog. Hutchinson, who has been visiting Broome properties for 38 years, emphasized the need for responsible pet ownership to prevent such incidents from occurring. He stressed the importance of dog owners being aware of their pets’ behavior around strangers to avoid potential harm.

The severity of the attack left Hutchinson with seven wounds on his legs, prompting him to raise awareness about the dangers of uncontrolled pets. He urged dog owners to exercise caution and responsibility, reminding them that their pets’ behavior may differ when interacting with unfamiliar individuals. As authorities continue to investigate the incident, Hutchinson remains focused on his recovery and raising awareness about the importance of pet owners taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of others.
