Alissa Weese receives deferred adjudication but is ordered incarcerated for six months first in the robbery that killed Jasmine Williams

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The last of seven defendants involved in the 2020 robbery and murder case of Jasmine Williams, 19, has been sentenced. Alissa Weese, 25, was ordered to serve ten years of deferred adjudication, with the first six months to be spent incarcerated. Weese’s sentencing comes after a plea agreement for probation was rejected by State District Judge Velia J. Meza.

Weese and six others were charged with the capital murder and robbery of Williams, who was shot by intruders at her home while her two young children were present. The assailants took several items from the home, including Williams’ debit card and cellphone. Her fiancĂ© discovered her in a bloodied and unresponsive state in their home.

The case has been fraught with complications over the past three years, with charges being filed, dismissed, and refiled as defendants shifted blame and changed their stories. Weese pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of robbery as part of a new agreement. Additionally, other defendants also reached plea agreements resulting in varied sentences, ranging from 5 to 30 years in prison.

State District Judge Meza acknowledged that Weese might not have known the full extent of the robbery scheme she had joined, but emphasized the need for her to understand the consequences of her actions. With the sentencing of the last defendant in this case, justice has been served in the tragic murder of Jasmine Williams.
