Arrests made in connection with violent armed robbery and sexual assault in Northville Township

NORTHVILLE, MI – Authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with a violent armed robbery and sexual assault that occurred in Northville Township in January.

Javon Bryant Anderson, 29, from Detroit, is facing 26 charges, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery, kidnapping, home invasion, assault less than murder, felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and felony firearm offenses. He is being held on a $500,000 bond with his next court appearance scheduled for Feb. 16.

The second suspect, whose name has not been disclosed by the police, is in federal custody facing weapons charges. The incident took place on January 20 inside a Northville Township home at Eight Mile Road and Silver Spring Drive, where a man was assaulted and a woman was raped.

According to police, the man was lured outside the home and then attacked by the suspects. They then forced him back into the home and continued to assault him at gunpoint. During the attack, one of the suspects sexually assaulted a woman inside the home while the other held the man and a 1-year-old child at gunpoint.

After searching homes in Detroit and Taylor on Feb. 5, officers were able to identify and apprehend the suspects. The violent nature of the incident has left the community in shock as the investigation into the motives behind the attack continues. The arrests bring a sense of relief to the Northville Township residents but also serve as a reminder of the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities.
