Assault Charges Laid on Two Youth After Incident at Corner Brook Intermediate School Caught on Video Surveillance

CORNER BROOK, N.L. – Two young individuals are facing charges in connection with an alleged assault on another youth at Corner Brook Intermediate School. According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the incident occurred on Thursday, Feb. 1, prompting a response from patrol officers who arrived at the school shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The police determined that a male youth had been assaulted and received medical attention from paramedics on site before being transported to the hospital via ambulance. The injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.

As a result, a male youth has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, while a female youth has been charged with assault. Both accused individuals have been released and are expected to appear in provincial court at a later date.

The RNC confirmed that the incident took place inside the school. Const. James Cadigan, the RNC’s media relations and public communication officer, mentioned that the identities of all the individuals involved, and whether they were students at Corner Brook Intermediate School, were still being verified.
