Spokane, Washington – A man in Spokane, Washington, was violently assaulted and had his car stolen near Spokane International Airport, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO). The incident took place near West 50th Avenue and South Grove Road, where the victim flagged down a deputy to report the theft.
The victim, who had limited English proficiency, explained to deputies that he had stopped at a gas station near South Hayford Road and US 2 when he was approached by a man requesting a ride. Agreeing to help, the victim drove the suspect to the 6000 block of West 50th Avenue. When asked to exit the vehicle, the suspect brandished a weapon and physically attacked the victim.
During the assault, another individual arrived at the scene and joined in the attack, resulting in injuries to the victim, including a severed or injured finger while attempting to prevent his car’s theft. Unfortunately, a subsequent search for the victim’s stolen green 1999 Ford Mustang, and the possible white Subaru driven by the suspect, proved unsuccessful.
