Attack on Senior at Edmonton LRT Station Leads to Multiple Arrests and Manhunt for Suspects

Edmonton, Alberta – A senior was viciously attacked at a downtown Edmonton LRT station, leading to two arrests, the issuance of a warrant for another suspect, and the search for three unidentified suspects. The attack occurred on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, around 5:30 a.m at the ground level Churchill platform of the Valley Line LRT. Edmonton Police Service reported that a 64-year-old man was waiting for a train when he was approached by a male suspect. A brief verbal exchange escalated into a violent assault, leaving the senior man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Five additional suspects reportedly joined in the attack, robbing the man before fleeing the scene outside city hall. Despite three suspects being identified and charged, the search continues for three others involved. Among the wanted suspects is Markus Lee Gladue, 21, who is wanted for aggravated assault, possessing an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, and robbery.
