Attacker Arrested in London High Commission Violence Case by NIA

New Delhi, India – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) made a significant breakthrough on Thursday by apprehending a suspect involved in the violent attack on the High Commission of India in London in March 2023. The arrested individual, identified as Inderpal Singh Gaba from Hounslow, United Kingdom, was allegedly part of the unlawful activities during the protests that occurred on March 22, 2023.

According to the NIA, their investigations unveiled that the incidents in London last year were part of a larger conspiracy to carry out vicious attacks on Indian missions and officials. These attacks were reportedly in retaliation to actions taken by the Punjab Police against pro-Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh on March 18, 2023. Authorities also mentioned that in August last year, the NIA conducted searches at various locations linked to the individuals suspected of involvement in the attack on the High Commission in London on March 19.

The attack on the High Commission involved about 50 individuals who were accused of criminal trespass, disrespecting India’s national flag, damaging public property, and injuring High Commission officials. Gurcharan Singh of the Dal Khalsa in the UK, Avtar Singh Khanda of the Khalistan Liberation Force, and Jasvir Singh were identified as the organizers of the attack along with their associates, both Indian and foreign nationals.

In May last year, the NIA dispatched a team to the UK to gather evidence, engaging in a crowdsourcing effort to identify and gather information on UK-based entities and individuals allegedly involved in the conspiracy. The investigation into the violent incident in London continued, revealing the extent of the network and the planning behind the attack, shedding light on the complex web of actors involved in the unlawful activities.

The arrest of Inderpal Singh Gaba marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation, as authorities continue to delve deeper into the motives and connections behind the violent attack on the High Commission of India in London. With each new revelation, the NIA is inching closer to unraveling the intricate web of conspirators and their role in orchestrating the unlawful activities that transpired in March 2023.
