Charged: Men Arrested in Connection with Violent York Attack

York, England – Two men are facing charges in connection with a violent assault that took place in York. The suspects, aged 26 and 29, were taken into custody on Tuesday after an investigation into an attack on a man that occurred on April 19th.

Authorities have confirmed that both men have been charged with wounding with intent. Additionally, the 29-year-old suspect is facing charges of witness intimidation, criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker, and possession of an offensive weapon. The men are currently detained and are scheduled to appear before magistrates on Thursday.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police disclosed that the 26-year-old suspect had been recalled to prison. Another individual, in their 60s, who was also arrested in connection to the incident, has been released on conditional bail.

Furthermore, two women, aged 41 and 43, along with a 54-year-old man who were previously arrested in relation to the assault, remain on bail as inquiries continue. Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding the attack to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Fionna McEwan emphasized the importance of community cooperation, stating, “I continue to appeal to anyone who has any information to please come forward.”
