Explosion aftermath: Dramatic new photos capture Fort Worth rescues and destruction

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – New photos have emerged showing the aftermath of an explosion in Fort Worth, Texas, which left behind a trail of destruction and prompted a large-scale response from first responders.

The Fort Worth Fire Department reported that “specially trained canines” were used overnight and into the morning to search for victims. Fortunately, no additional victims were found. Earlier reports indicated that at least 21 people were injured in the blast, with one in critical condition and four others seriously hurt. The department stated that the rest of the victims sustained minor injuries.

The photos depict the extensive damage caused by the explosion, as well as the heroic efforts of first responders rescuing individuals from the rubble. The fire department expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of the community, especially in light of the immediate aftermath of the event.

Officials have indicated that there was a gas smell in the area, but it is still unknown whether it was related to the explosion or its cause. While the explosion displayed characteristics of a gas explosion, the cause is still under investigation.

The fire department has implemented multiple street closures in the surrounding area and advised the public to make alternative plans. More information regarding the incident is expected to be released later on Tuesday.
