Fairwood Area Crash Leaves Four Dead, Including Three Children

Renton, Washington – A tragic accident involving four vehicles at the intersection of 140th Avenue and Southeast 192nd Street in the Fairwood area of Renton resulted in the loss of four lives on Tuesday, according to Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Division Chief Pat Pawlak.

Among the victims were three children and one woman, as reported by the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) on Wednesday. The woman, identified as Andrea Hudson, was 38 years old, while the children included a 13-year-old girl, a 12-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old boy. Hudson was described as a devoted mother and cherished member of her community.

The tragedy unfolded when Hudson, driving with her children and friends’ children to a homeschool activity, was struck by another driver allegedly speeding at 90 mph. Despite efforts to save her children, two remain in critical condition, fighting for their lives at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Families and friends mourn the loss of the children who perished in the accident, none of whom were related to Andrea Hudson but were dear to her heart. A GoFundMe campaign was set up to assist with medical and funeral expenses, shedding light on the impact of this devastating event on the community.

The driver responsible for the collision, an 18-year-old man, is currently receiving treatment at Harborview Medical Center under guard, with pending criminal charges. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with authorities urging any witnesses to come forward and provide information to aid in understanding the circumstances leading to the accident.

As the community grapples with this heartbreaking event, the need for support and healing is evident. The closure of the intersection where the accident occurred serves as a solemn reminder of the lives lost and the long road to recovery ahead for those affected by this tragedy.
