Gang Violence Leaves Guwahati Youth Injured and Robbed, Police Investigation Underway

GUWAHATI, India – A violent gang attack in the city of Guwahati on Saturday night left a young man injured and robbed after a heated argument escalated into a brutal assault. The victim, identified as Pankaj Chakraborty, suffered severe injuries to his forehead, abdomen, and face during the attack, which took place in the Basistha locality of the city.

According to reports, a group of four to five individuals allegedly attacked Chakraborty with a sharp weapon following a dispute. Arvind Singh and Karan Mahato have been accused of orchestrating the attack, while the gang also robbed Chakraborty, taking his mobile handset and other belongings.

In response to the incident, Chakraborty filed a police report at the Basistha police station, prompting the city police to launch an investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack, and authorities are continuing to look into the matter.
