Guam Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting of Korean Tourist

Hagatna, Guam – Authorities in Guam have made progress in the case of the fatal shooting and robbery of a Korean tourist in Tumon. The Guam Police Department announced the arrest of one suspect and the death of another, late Tuesday night.

The tourist, who was walking with his wife when they were robbed, succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. Following their investigation, the police obtained surveillance footage showing a 2011 silver Toyota 4Runner. Furthermore, information from a “concerned citizen” led to the apprehension of a suspect who was in possession of the vehicle.

Stefen Keanu Paulino Camacho, 26, was arrested in Yona and admitted to his involvement as the getaway driver. Meanwhile, the second suspect was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in another vehicle parked outside a residence.

The identity of the deceased suspect has not yet been disclosed as the police continue to locate his next of kin. Chief Stephen Ignacio expressed gratitude to businesses for sharing their surveillance footage, which significantly aided the investigation. Camacho is currently in police custody and facing charges of murder and robbery.

Detectives revealed that Camacho had prior arrests for assault and disorderly conduct, while the second suspect had a record of possessing a controlled substance and an active arrest warrant. The investigation is ongoing, and Camacho is being questioned by the police.
