‘HAPPY FACE’ on Paramount Plus Welcomes Annaleigh Ashford to Cast

NEW YORK, NY – Annaleigh Ashford, known for her role in Broadway’s Sweeney Todd, has landed a new role in Paramount Plus’ upcoming serial-killer drama, “Happy Face.”

The series is based on the true story of Melissa Moore, the daughter of a convicted serial killer. Moore’s father was known as “Happy Face” and she chronicled her story in the autobiography, “Shattered Silence,” as well as the iHeartPodcasts’ “Happy Face” podcast.

As an adult, Moore changed her name and her father is serving life in prison. In the show, her father contacts her to take credit for another victim, leading to an investigation of his crimes and their impact on the victims’ families.

“Happy Face” will consist of eight episodes and is set to premiere on Paramount Plus in 2025. The series will be showrun by Jennifer Cacicio and executive produced by Robert and Michelle King, Michael Showalter, and Liz Glotzer.

In addition to her recent role in “B Positive,” Ashford’s television credits include “Welcome to Chippendales,” “American Crime Story,” “Unbelievable,” “Evil,” “Younger,” and “Masters of Sex.”

The new role for Ashford marks an exciting addition to the Paramount Plus lineup, bringing a compelling and gripping true crime story to the small screen.
