Illegal Migrants Attack NYPD Cops in NYC: Sen. Lindsey Graham Calls for Deportation Answers

New York City, USA – Senate Judiciary ranking member Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has written a letter to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), demanding answers on their actions regarding illegal migrants who attacked New York City police officers and were subsequently freed without bail.

Graham expressed his concern over the consequences of President Biden’s immigration crisis, specifically referring to a violent beat-down near Times Square in New York. In his letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Graham questioned what their respective agencies will do in response to the “brazen attack.”

He specifically asked, “Will the aliens who perpetrated this attack be deported? If so, when? If not, why not?”

The Justice Department confirmed receipt of the letter but declined to comment further, while DHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the matter. Mayorkas is also facing a possible impeachment vote in the House after the House Homeland Security Committee cleared a resolution for his impeachment this week.

Over the weekend, at least seven illegal migrants attacked a pair of New York City police officers near Times Square before being released without bail following their arrest. Surveillance footage released by the New York Police Department showed the officers trying to subdue the suspects, leading to a scuffle.

The suspects then kicked the officers before running off, and were later arrested. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

One of the suspects, Jhoan Boada, notably gave news cameras a double-handed middle finger as he walked past and smirked at reporters and photographers outside the Midtown South Precinct in Manhattan. He was observed wearing a black Los Angeles Lakers shirt and khakis, with a tattoo on his left forearm.

Investigations and proceedings continue as the incident sparks a heated conversation about immigration policies and law enforcement issues in the United States.
