Jailed Swindon Man Causes Trauma with Violent Attack: Victim Left Vulnerable and Traumatized

Swindon, United Kingdom – A man from Swindon has been sentenced to two years and ten months in jail after a violent assault left a woman severely injured and traumatized. Kyle Milsom, 44, of Linden Avenue in Pinehurst, admitted to causing deep cuts that required hospital treatment to his victim during the assault on December 10 last year. In addition to the assault occasioning actual bodily harm, Milsom also pleaded guilty to a battery offense.

The victim, whose statement was read in court, expressed the emotional toll of the attack by saying, “On returning home from the hospital, my children don’t want to look at me or cuddle me, and as a mother, I found this the hardest.” She further added, “This attack has left us all feeling vulnerable and traumatized.”

During the sentencing at Swindon Crown Court on April 18, Milsom was also given a seven-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim. PC Sam Bridgeman commended the victim for her courage in reporting the assault, emphasizing the importance of holding perpetrators accountable in the justice system. Bridgeman stated, “This is the first step in ensuring justice could be served, and I hope this sentence is reassuring to both her and the community.”
