Jennifer Dulos’ Murder: Accomplices Stand Trial on Conspiracy Charges

NEW CANAAN, Connecticut – In 2019, Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five, disappeared after dropping her children off at school in New Canaan, Connecticut. Her body has never been found, and her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was arrested and charged with her murder before taking his own life. Two others also allegedly know what happened to Jennifer and face charges related to helping cover up the murder plot.

Jennifer’s disappearance has captured international attention and led to legislative changes in Connecticut, including the passing of Jennifer’s Law, which expands the definition of domestic violence to include coercive control. The bill also established a program to provide legal representation for domestic violence victims who file restraining orders.

The case has been the subject of multiple TV documentaries and continues to unfold with Michelle Troconis, Fotis’ former girlfriend, now facing trial on charges related to Jennifer’s disappearance. Kent Mawhinney, an attorney and former friend of Fotis, is also facing charges but has not yet gone to trial.

As the legal proceedings continue, Jennifer’s family and supporters eagerly await justice for the mother-of-five, whose tragic story has left a lasting impact on domestic violence legislation in Connecticut. Her memory lives on through the changes brought about by Jennifer’s Law, named in her honor.
