Jersey City Man Arrested in Connection to Fatal Triple Shooting

Jersey City, New Jersey – A 36-year-old man has been taken into custody and charged in connection to a tragic triple shooting that claimed the life of one individual and left two others wounded. Hudson County prosecutors have identified the suspect as Joseph Del Valle, a resident of Hoboken, who is now facing charges of murder, weapons possession, and assault.

The incident occurred on March 9th at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Jordan Avenue, just a short distance away from a local high school near McGinley Square. According to official reports, the shooting resulted in the death of 33-year-old Christoph Terrero Marte from Jersey City, while two other victims, a 28-year-old from Union City and a 31-year-old from Jersey City, sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Following the investigation, Del Valle was apprehended at an address on Summit Avenue in Jersey City and then transferred to the Hudson County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial court appearance. In addition to Del Valle, another individual identified as 42-year-old Francisco Salcedo from Jersey City was also arrested on charges of aggravated assault and weapon possession, with the apprehension taking place at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus on March 11th.
