The court learned that after Bishop’s initial punch, the victim attempted to retaliate but was soon overpowered. Bishop climbed on top of him, delivering a series of punches while the victim struggled to defend himself. This unprovoked assault escalated further as Bishop began kicking the victim multiple times, targeting both his head and body.
In the aftermath, the victim managed to reach his home before seeking medical attention. He was subsequently hospitalized with severe injuries, prompting a police investigation that led to Bishop’s arrest. Upon their arrival, officers found him waiting at the scene, where he was taken into custody.
Bishop faces a charge of wounding with intent to injure, a serious offense that carries a maximum prison sentence of seven years. During his court appearance, he pleaded guilty, admitting culpability in the violent act.

He imposed a sentence of 400 hours of community service alongside six months of supervised release and mandated that Bishop pay $1,000 in restitution to the victim. The judge expressed a desire to allow Bishop to maintain his employment while still holding him accountable for the unrestrained violence he displayed.
