LONDON, ENGLAND – A horrific incident unfolded in the streets of Hainault, east London, resulting in the tragic death of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin. The suspect, a 36-year-old man identified as Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, has been charged with murder after allegedly attacking five people with a sword, leaving four others seriously injured.
According to Chief Crown Prosecutor Jaswant Narwal, Monzo is facing multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article. The deadly attack took place on Tuesday morning when Monzo reportedly crashed a vehicle and proceeded to stab multiple individuals. Among the injured were two police officers who are currently hospitalized.
Although the incident was captured on video, law enforcement officials have clarified that it is not believed to be terror-related. Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat and that Monzo was swiftly apprehended using a stun gun just 22 minutes after the initial call for help.
Anjorin, described by his school as a “true scholar” and a cherished member of the community, tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
