Police in Deptford, London have released an image of a man they are seeking in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred outside the Deptford Islamic Centre on Childers Street. The suspect, identified as Abdullahi Mohamed, 24, is wanted in relation to the “extremely violent” attack that took place on February 9. The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained a stab wound but fortunately, his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.
According to DC James Richardson from the local policing team in south east London, Mohamed is aware that the authorities are trying to locate him. The violent nature of the attack, which involved the use of a large machete, has led police to believe that Mohamed may pose a danger to others. Despite efforts to locate him, law enforcement is now turning to the public for assistance in finding Mohamed, as they have released his image to aid in the search.
Authorities have emphasized that the incident is not believed to be a hate crime, but rather a targeted attack. The community is urged to come forward with any information regarding Mohamed’s whereabouts by contacting 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC, quoting CRIS 3203506/24. In the event of an immediate sighting, the public is advised not to approach Mohamed but to instead call 999. Information can also be shared anonymously with the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The stabbing outside the mosque in Deptford resulted in the victim being hospitalized with a stab wound, although his condition was assessed as non-life threatening.
