Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Targeted Manitoba Shooting That Left One Woman Dead

Keeseekoowenin, Manitoba — Authorities are searching for a man in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a woman last month. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported that the violent confrontation occurred at a residence shortly before 3 a.m. on July 28.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. A 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the location, while a 26-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, he has since been discharged.

The suspect, identified as Frank La Forge, 52, is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder. Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted act and have since issued a warning regarding La Forge’s whereabouts. He is described as approximately five feet, eight inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, with brown eyes and a bald head.

Authorities caution the public not to approach La Forge if spotted. Instead, they urge anyone with information on his location to contact emergency services immediately. Police suspect he may be in the Rural Municipality of Yellowhead but note that he has ties to the Kamsack and Yorkton regions of eastern Saskatchewan.

Residents of the area are unsettled by the incident, which raises concerns about safety and community wellbeing. Keeseekoowenin, located about 240 kilometers northwest of Winnipeg, is a close-knit community, and the violent nature of this event has left many in shock.
