Isfahan, Iran – Reports have emerged of multiple explosions near the Shekari army airbase in the northwest of Isfahan province, as Iran’s Fars news agency confirmed. According to Iran’s space agency spokesman Hossein Dalirian, several drones have been successfully shot down in the area as well.
As tensions escalate in the region, nuclear facilities in Isfahan have been reported to be completely secure, as indicated by Iran’s Tasnim news agency. Despite the incidents, there are currently no reports of a missile attack, as shared by Dalirian on social media platform X.
The strikes in Isfahan province are believed to be carried out by Israel, as reported by ABC and CBS News, quoting US officials. Both the White House and Pentagon have yet to provide any immediate comments on the situation.
Iran, known for its support of Palestinian militant groups like Hamas and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, launched the attack in retaliation for an earlier strike on its consulate in Damascus, attributed to Israel. The impact of the incidents has extended to southern Syria, where blasts were reported by a local activist group.
The situation has led to the suspension of flights across several provinces in Iran, with Tehran’s official IRNA news agency confirming the activation of Iran’s air defense systems. Additional reports have indicated the suspension of flights to Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and airports in the west, northwest, and southwest regions.

The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has expressed concerns over the escalating conflict in the region, warning of the potential for a full-scale regional conflict if tensions are not eased.
