The accused, mortgage trader Stefan Jakubov, is facing a litany of charges, including open murder, robbery, and evidence tampering in the 2023 killing of Aaron Chavez.
According to reports, Jakubov allegedly instructed his associate, Gino Julian, to carry out the heinous act, which was livestreamed for Jakubov’s viewing pleasure. Julian was apprehended in August 2023 after tow truck drivers discovered him sleeping in his car near Chavez’s lifeless body.
In a disturbing twist, investigators revealed that the crime took place in a home wired with cameras, allowing Jakubov to witness the gruesome murder as it happened. Text messages exchanged between Jakubov and Julian further incriminated the pair in the deadly scheme.
The motives behind the chilling murder plot have raised questions about the victim, Aaron Chavez, who was described as both wealthy and embroiled in financial disputes with multiple individuals claiming to have been defrauded by him. Allegations of Ponzi schemes and illicit dealings further complicate the case.
