NYC Migrants Stomp and Kick NYPD Officers in Shocking Attack but Remain at Large

NEW YORK – The New York Police Department is still on the hunt for two violent migrants who were captured on CCTV stomping and kicking two police officers during a vicious attack in Times Square last month.

According to police, the suspects have not yet been apprehended in connection to the shocking attack where a mob of illegal immigrants kicked and beat the NYPD officers just steps from the New Amsterdam Theater – a popular tourist destination.

In photos released by the police, one of the migrants is seen wearing a red hoody, black pants, black sneakers, and a white baseball cap.

The now-viral video of the attack shows one of the migrants stomping on a lieutenant’s head as the police officer tries to apprehend a suspect on the ground. The migrant then kicks the other officer in the back before returning to take another kick at the lieutenant.

Several of those arrested in connection to the attack have already been released on bail and have fled the state, leading New York Republican lawmakers to call for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to be removed from office. However, Bragg stated that his office “continues to work with law enforcement to bring everyone responsible for these heinous attacks to justice.”

Darwin Andres Gomez, 19, Wilson Juarez, 21, Kelvin Servita Arocha, 19, and Yorman Reveron, 24, were part of the initial group of four who were arrested and then released, and have since fled to California.

In the midst of this incident, it has been reported that more than 170,000 migrants have arrived in New York City since 2022.

These brutal attacks unfold in a period marked by an uptick in violent crime being perpetrated in New York City by illegal immigrants, as the city grapples with the financial burden of housing and providing food for around 67,000 migrants, while funding for other services is cut. For instance, a $60 million cut to the city’s food budget has resulted in the cafeteria menu removing student favorites like cookies, chicken dumplings, and burritos, according to Chalkbeat.

The city is facing a $4.6 billion new budget to pay for the illegal migrant crisis, but the federal government has only allocated around $150 million in aid so far.

The situation surrounding the attacks on the NYPD officers in Times Square continues to develop as more suspects are identified, and law enforcement agencies work to ensure that justice is served.
