TAYLORSVILLE, UTAH – A man in Taylorsville is facing criminal charges in connection with the death of his mother after being attacked by his pet pit bulls. Jeremy Miller, 38, has been charged with seven counts of attack by an animal, a class B misdemeanor, in Taylorsville Justice Court. The victim, Sandra Miller, 63, passed away from severe injuries sustained during the attack by two adult pit bulls and five puppies.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on October 31, 2023, when officers from the Taylorsville Police Department responded to a home near 2900 West and 4800 South following reports of an animal attack. Upon arrival, officers discovered the dogs running freely in the backyard, with blood present on and around their mouths. Despite encountering resistance from the aggressive dogs, officers managed to enter the backyard using pepper spray.

Sandra Miller suffered extensive injuries to her face, hands, and leg, the latter of which was later amputated due to the severity of the wounds. She was found unable to move and in critical condition.
