Shipman’s Victim’s Family Fears True Death Toll is Higher Than Feared

Todmorden, England – Debbie Bartlett, granddaughter of one of Harold Shipman’s victims, believes that the death toll caused by the notorious doctor may be much higher than previously thought. Shipman, also known as “Dr. Death,” was a British general practitioner who is considered one of the worst serial killers in the country’s history.

In 1975, Shipman made a house call to Eva Lyons, a cancer patient, and administered a fatal dose of diamorphine before callously informing her unsuspecting husband that she had passed away. It wasn’t until more than 25 years later that Eva’s family discovered the truth about her death at the hands of Shipman.

Following a £20 million inquiry in 2002, it was revealed that Shipman had killed 215 victims, including Eva. However, Debbie Bartlett now believes that the true number of victims might be significantly higher than previously acknowledged.

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Debbie expressed her certainty that there are other victims of Shipman who have never been identified. She recounted the night her grandmother was killed, highlighting the strange circumstances surrounding the injection administered by Shipman.

With Shipman’s arrest in 1998 and subsequent conviction for multiple murders, Debbie is consumed by anger over the fact that he was allowed to continue practicing medicine despite earlier warning signs. She emphasized that her anger is directed toward the missed opportunities to prevent Shipman from inflicting further harm on unsuspecting patients.

Shipman’s suicide in 2004 marked the end of the search for answers, leaving many questions about his motives unanswered. Despite the compensation received by Eva’s family, Debbie stresses that it was never about the money, but rather a quest for justice and closure for the victims of Shipman’s heinous crimes.

In the end, Harold Shipman’s reign of terror serves as a chilling reminder of the devastating impact of serial killers on the lives of their victims and their loved ones. Eva Lyons may have been the first victim of Shipman’s bloodthirsty killing spree, but her memory lives on as a testament to the enduring pain he inflicted on countless others.
