Shooter Identified in 2018 Deaths of Arizona Couple: Kenneth Gene Snyder Responsible for Littlefield Tragedy

Littlefield, Arizona – Authorities in Mohave County have made a breakthrough in the case of the 2018 deaths of Jerry and Susan McFalls, a couple from Littlefield. The couple, both 62 years old, went missing from their home on the Arizona Strip on January 11, 2018. Their remains were discovered in a shallow grave near the Virgin River Gorge on October 15, 2018.

After an extensive investigation, law enforcement officials have identified Kenneth Gene Snyder, 57, as the individual responsible for the deaths of the McFalls couple. According to witness accounts, a verbal altercation ensued between Jerry McFalls and Snyder when McFalls approached Snyder’s residence. This altercation ultimately led to Snyder shooting both Jerry and Susan before removing their bodies from the property.

In a tragic turn of events, Snyder himself was fatally shot during a domestic violence assault on his property on June 1, 2023. With Snyder deceased, the sheriff’s office stated that no arrests could be made in connection to his involvement in the murder of the McFalls couple.

The investigation into the McFalls’ disappearance began on January 21, 2018, after family members reported them missing. When authorities arrived at the couple’s Littlefield home, they found their phones, money, medication, IDs, pets, and guns left behind. Susan McFalls’ remains were positively identified on October 18, 2018, through medical records and a medical device found with the remains. Jerry McFalls’ remains were positively identified on January 30, 2020, using DNA analysis.
