The Barron County Sheriff’s Department stated that officers found the suspected shooter nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both the shooter and the female victim, whose condition remains unknown, were transported to a medical facility for treatment. Sadowski’s family has revealed that he was trying to protect his pregnant younger sister during the altercation when he was fatally shot.

Authorities are investigating a disturbing video that has surfaced on Snapchat, reportedly depicting the moments of the shooting. The sheriff’s office affirmed it is working with the social media platform to have the video removed. The situation has raised concerns within the local community, especially among students at the Turtle Lake School District, where the suspect was identified as a former student.
School officials have reached out to families, urging them to discuss the incident with their children. A counselor will be available on campus to offer support to students affected by the ordeal. A neighboring resident indicated that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, highlighting the need for discussions around domestic violence and safety.
