Suspect Sought in Connection to Brutal Burglary and Animal Cruelty in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a burglary and animal cruelty case in Hampton, Virginia.

The incident took place on Wednesday, Jan. 3, just after 7 p.m., when police were notified of a burglary at United Auto Repair on the 2500 block of West Pembroke Avenue. The suspect, who was wearing a black ski mask, a black beanie hat with a white logo, and black and white sneakers, entered the business through an unsecured door while it was closed.

Once inside, the suspect shot a 1-year-old Rottweiler in the office and proceeded to shoot a 4-year-old Pitbull Terrier inside a kennel in a separate office. Tragically, the Rottweiler died at the scene, while the Pitbull Terrier was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital. The suspect fled the scene before the authorities arrived.

The Hampton Police Division released images of the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward. The community’s help is vital in bringing the perpetrator to justice and ensuring the safety of the area.
