Ash Green, Warwickshire – Two men, Damien Foster and Anthony Kennan, were recently sentenced for a brutal assault on a young man at the Royal Oak pub last year. The incident, which took place on May 28, left the victim in his 20s with serious injuries, shining a light on a disturbing act of violence within the community.
According to Warwickshire Police, Foster, 37, and Kennan, 42, viciously attacked the victim outside the pub, continuing to kick him while he was defenseless on the ground. Both men had previously confessed to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in court.
The justice system delivered its verdict on March 1 at Warwick Crown Court, sentencing Foster to 25 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to complete 240 hours of unpaid work and pay £1,000 in compensation to the victim. Kennan received a community order, requiring him to perform 200 hours of unpaid work and compensate the victim with £800.
