Assailants Identified in Violent Churchill LRT Station Attack: Edmonton Police Seek Public Tips

Edmonton, Alberta – Edmonton police have made significant progress in identifying and apprehending suspects involved in a violent assault and robbery incident at the Churchill LRT station last month. The incident took place on February 24th, when a 64-year-old man was ambushed, beaten, and robbed by a group of assailants while waiting for a train on the ground-level platform. The victim sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover.

After releasing surveillance images of the suspects, police have arrested two individuals and are actively seeking a third suspect on outstanding warrants. Three other suspects remain unidentified, prompting authorities to seek information from the public. Among the group, one male suspect carried pepper spray, while another was seen riding a bicycle. Additionally, there was a female accomplice involved in the attack.

Const. Anton Golosov expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation thus far and urged anyone who recognizes the suspects to come forward with information. Markus Lee Gladue, 21, is wanted for aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, and robbery. Brady Rodney Desroches-Smith, 28, faces charges of aggravated assault and robbery, and was also wanted for first-degree murder by the Grande Prairie RCMP at the time of his arrest. Travis Damian Houle, 35, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and violating a probation order.
