Assault Suspect on the Loose in Pasadena After Violent Attack

Pasadena, California – Authorities in Pasadena, California are on the lookout for a man suspected of committing a violent sexual assault on a woman sitting in her car outside a restaurant. The incident, which occurred on Sierra Madre Villa Avenue north of Foothill Boulevard, unfolded around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday. The Pasadena Police Department reported that the suspect entered the woman’s car, brandished a knife, and forced her to drive to another location where the assault took place.

The victim managed to fight back, push the assailant away, and call 911 after he fled the scene. According to Pasadena PD Lt. Tim Bundy, the suspect, described as a 30 to 40-year-old Black male, approximately 6 feet tall with a heavy build, was last seen wearing a black face mask, a gray hooded rain jacket, light blue jeans, and black shoes, carrying a folding knife. The man also has a distinctive raspy voice and may be transient.

Residents like Lynne Levin-Guzman, a nurse for the past two decades, expressed concern over the attack, emphasizing the importance of remaining vigilant despite residing in what’s considered a safe city like Pasadena. The community is urged to be on high alert as authorities continue their search for the suspect, who is believed to pose a significant threat.

This recent incident comes in the wake of two brutal sexual assaults near the canals in Venice, where one victim was severely beaten and another sustained significant injuries but is expected to recover. In a separate case, suspect Anthony Jones, 29, was apprehended in San Diego on charges including forcible rape and attempted murder. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has requested that Jones be held without bail due to the severity of the charges.
