Explosive Investigation Delayed Until April Due to Complex Coordination

Clinton Township, Michigan – An investigation into a recent fire and series of explosions at a vape supply facility in Clinton Township will commence in early April. The investigation, involving multiple agencies and the use of large equipment on the site, will be led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in collaboration with local authorities and representatives from private parties related to the incident.

On March 4, a facility known as Select Distributors and Goo Smoke Shop on 15 Mile Road experienced a fire and explosions that resulted in debris, including canisters of butane and nitrous oxide, being scattered up to two miles away from the scene. Tragically, one 19-year-old lost their life, and a firefighter sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Given the complexity of the investigation and the need to involve specialists from various fields such as mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and structural engineers, the anticipated start date for the probe is set for the first week of April. The process of moving heavy equipment and sifting through debris piled four to five feet high will be a challenging task for investigators.

Once the investigation begins, officials hope to determine the cause of the explosion and fire within a few days. However, the intense heat at the scene poses a significant challenge in the process, and the determination of the cause may remain undetermined indefinitely.

Although the scene is currently under control, authorities urge the public to stay away and report any debris they come across to law enforcement. The investigation is crucial in understanding the events that led to the fire and explosions at the Clinton Township vape supply facility, and the cooperation of all parties involved is essential in uncovering the truth.
