Father Slams Crumbleys’ Blame Game in Oxford High School Shooting Sentencing

Rochester Hills, Michigan, – A father of a victim of the 2021 Oxford High School shooting expressed his frustration with the parents of the shooter, James and Jennifer Crumbley, during their sentencing on Tuesday. Steve St. Juliana, the father of Hana St. Juliana, criticized the Crumbleys for deflecting blame and refusing to take responsibility for their son’s actions.

St. Juliana emotionally stated that the Crumbleys, through their choices and negligence, allowed their son to carry out the tragic shooting that took the lives of his daughter and three other children. He emphasized that instead of acknowledging their role in the tragedy, the Crumbleys continued to shift blame onto others.

The grieving father shared the profound impact his daughter’s death had on him, expressing the deep void left in his life by her absence. He lamented the moments he would never experience, such as witnessing her graduations or walking her down the aisle.

Throughout the trial, St. Juliana’s feelings towards the Crumbleys evolved as he witnessed their defiance and lack of remorse. He emphasized that it was the victims, not the defendants, who had truly lost everything in the tragic incident.

Following St. Juliana’s impactful statement, Buck Myre, the father of another victim, Tate Myre, delivered his own emotional impact statement. The court proceedings offered a platform for the families of the victims to confront the Crumbleys and express the lasting pain caused by their actions.

The sentencing hearing provided a moment of reckoning for the community as they grappled with the aftermath of the tragic shooting. The sentiments shared by the victims’ families highlighted the profound impact of the events and the importance of accountability in such cases.
