Gurugram, India: In a chilling crime that has left the community shaken, a former model and ex-girlfriend of a notorious gangster was brutally murdered by a hotel owner and his associates in Gurugram, police reported. The victim’s body has not been located after it was dragged into a BMW and dumped elsewhere.
The motive behind the killing remains a mystery, but the victim, 27-year-old Divya Pahuja, was previously accused in the alleged fake encounter of her former boyfriend, Sandeep Gadoli, who was the most-wanted gangster in Gurugram before he was killed in 2016. After spending seven years in prison, Pahuja was granted bail just last year.
According to officials from Gurugram’s Sector 14 police station, Pahuja’s family reported her missing after she went out with her friend Abhijeet Singh on January 1. Singh, who owns Hotel City Point in Gurugram, and two of his associates have since been arrested for Pahuja’s murder. The police are now working to locate her body.
Authorities revealed that Singh allegedly paid his two counterparts Rs 10 lakh to dispose of the body in his BMW and discard it in a location where it would not be found. Surveillance footage from the hotel captured the chilling moments when the body was dragged down a corridor.
Pahuja’s connection to Gadoli, who was killed in 2016, adds another layer of complexity to the case. Gadoli was involved in a confrontation with the Haryana police, and Pahuja was with him when he was killed. Both Pahuja and her mother were detained for their alleged involvement in facilitating the encounter.
The accused attempted to destroy evidence after committing the murder, but police were able to obtain crucial CCTV footage from the hotel. Pahuja’s body was seen being dragged in the footage, prompting the investigation to find her remains.
Pahuja, a resident of Baldev Nagar in Gurugram, and Singh, who resides in Delhi’s South Extension, were entangled in a web of criminal activities. The unresolved case continues to unfold as authorities work to piece together the events leading to Pahuja’s tragic end.
